Conversations” takes you to the water's edge at British Columbia’s beautiful west coast. I wanted to draw the viewer deep into the scene, almost standing on the crusty glacial granite rock where the shoreline meets the Pacific.

The focus here is not just on the land, but on the quiet conversations happening within it. At the shore, two figures lean into one another, highlighting the scale and power of the coastline. Meanwhile, another dialogue is happening in the warmth of the cabin. It’s an intimacy, between both humanity and the wilderness.

The filtered light creates a reflective surface on the water—rendered with lively brushwork that captures the blues, pinks, and silver reflections. The ancient granite rocks provide solid structure for the foreground, while the textural impasto creates the sky.

This piece is a celebration of the unique beauty found in the quiet moments of a West Coast evening. I hope you feel the same deep appreciation for the coastal landscape of British Columbia that I feel.
