This is a portrait of Tassie, our adorable family dog. Though she lost an eye around age two, it never diminished her spirit. She lived a long, wonderfully happy life, bringing immense joy to our family.
My process for this studio painting involved an initial underpainting using a single hue (burnt sienna). This crucial step helped me define the placement, master the tonal values, and refine my brushwork before introducing colour. Working with a limited palette, I then focused on building realistic textures for her fur and the surrounding grass. I hope this painting conveys the deep affection we have for our resilient Tassie.
