Yellow-rumped Warbler 5”x7” (Sound on 🎶✨)

These fella arrive early in spring,  thanks to its unique digestive system. Unlike most warblers that rely strictly on insects, "Yellow-rumps" are able to digest waxy berries - such as juniper berries and snowberries - because they have elevated levels of bile salts in their gut. That way they don’t have to rely on the insects who have disappeared due to the cold.
