Hairy Woodpecker 7”x5” (Sound on 🎶✨)
Fun Fact: I had no idea these guys made such energetic peeps and squeaks until my Merlin app identified the sound! Normally, I only spot them when I hear their rhythmic drumming. They are always a welcome sight in the forest. Interestingly, woodpecker populations often increase significantly in areas affected by mountain pine beetles, as they take full advantage of the abundant food supply.
